Week 2 - www.searchforclass.com/learning objective/

This is a really fun trip, a very thrilling week, an impressive task.

There are a lot of things that I can get this week. Through a given task, lots of new knowledge and experiences that can be applied within the scope of the teaching, especially English. This way will be my first step in learning webskills for teaching successfully through learning objectives are highly effective for students to get a good achievement in the class.

What is your favorite search engine? How many search engines do you know?

This is my first task at the beginning of the second week. The questions above led to my trip in completing the first task given by Donna, our awesome instructor of the yellow group. What a surprise when I found dozens and even hundreds of search engines on the Internet starting from the given instruction to visit the site noodletools which is as the material that will be used in the discussion of yellow group in nicenet. I usually use google and bing to find anything I need from the internet (mostly yellow group members use google, I guess). But now I realize that there are some search engines that are available and useful for specific topics. I will find some more and use them to add my resources in my teaching process.

It’s not about the tools, it’s using the tools to facilitate learning

A quote of Andrew Churces above, in Bloom's Digital Taxonomy, has a very deep meening. we don't focus on the tools, but on how we use and improve it in teaching and in student's learning. This is the second weekly assignment that I should learn and apply which is writing learning objectives. Readings and resources are helpful in writing learning objective, especially for A.B.C.D method that stands for Audience, Behavior, Condition, and Degree. To be honest I have to say this is a quite helpful and effective method for me to design the lesson for the students and evaluate the results of the study. I highly suggest this to be a tool for creating learning objectives. After reading some articles and making the ABCD objectives for my class, I posted it in nicenet, our discussion workstation. The last assignment, not at least, is describing a class of each member of the group which depends on what we have discussed before.

Sharing the experience and knowledge for the success of students is very superb. I'm very excited to be in this group. Those are the tasks that I've been working on and finishing this week. There are so many things that I have to learn in teaching. I really hope that what I've got can be applied and be useful for my students.

Don't forget to leave your comments here. :)
See you in the next episode.

  1. Congratulations Husni on this wonderful post!
You're right on your suggestion: Tools themselves are as important as the way we use them.
    Great work!

  3. Husni, your blog is simply amazing!!!
It is really important to see how we all share the same feelings and concerns.
I completely agree with your comment on ABCD objectives. It has been a big discovery for me, above all because I know how to state objectives but using this method I can state them in an understandable and efficient way. I believe that my students will benefit from it since they will be aware of everything that I expect from them.

    1. Thanks Adriano.
It is important, indeed. The objective is like a map for us. We can easily find the place that we want to go because we get that map in our hand. How we use it is another important thing. So, I am in same opinion with you that it is an understandable and efficient way.
I believe that you and your student can achieve the goals as well as I believe myself and my student. Just do our best in teaching our students. Good luck, Adriano. :)

  5. Hello Husni,

I love your blog, I love your writing style and above all I love your quote about using the tools to facilitate learning/instruction and not just the tools. Regarding the ABCD Objective, it is fantastic as we can narrow it down to make it easier and measurable to our students. Best regards!

    1. Hi Angel,

      Thanks for the comment.
I've read your post, and I'll say your writing style is adorable one. I can easily understand your sentences.
I have same opinion with you about the quote above, but to be honest It's not my quote. It's a quote of Andrew Churces.
I'm glad we can know each other. Thanks for that.

  7. Hi Husni,

What an amazing week and what an amazing post. Thank you for bringing Andrew Churces's to the fore, I love quotes that express important truths succinctly, they stay on the mind. The way I felt this week as I learned many new and fascinating things was similar to the way you felt. Must mean I'm learning something! Great job.
