This is more completely challenging week than before. This week I did the more tasks. I really didn't have much time to finish all tasks completely, but I felt happy because we've got new participant this week. Welcome Kelley Pierce, a talented and accomplished English instructor and a colleague of Donna to our class and thanks for your insightful ideas.
ALTERNATIVE ASSESSMENT
This week I've got a lot of useful things which make me more concern about teaching and assessing students' performance. Alternative assessment is one of my task, and of course we did the reading first. I've got some articles to read and I got a big picture of assessment. In fact, It uses activities that reveal what students can do with language, emphasizing their strengths instead of their weaknesses. It is based on authentic tasks, focuses on communication, and learners help to set the criteria. Now I know that effective alternative assessment relies on observations and we can record it using RUBRICS. Rubrics provide a measure of quality of performance. So this is the second task I've got this week. Creating a rubric. I was given a website to create rubrics. You can can create the rubric in Rubistar. We can save and edit rubrics online if we have registered already. So this can be a good start for me to make an effective assessment for my students.
See you soon in week 6.

PROJECT-BASED LEARNING
The next reading is about PBL which stands for Project-Based Learning. This is a component of an inquiry-based approach to learning. In this learning, students can engage with the activities and they can create knowledge and understanding through the activities. This learning allows students with a variety of different learning style to demonstrate their knowledge. WebQuest is my next task. WebQuest is an inquiry-oriented activities that uses resources on the World Wide Web, defined by Professor Bernie Dodge of San Diego State University. It can help students develop problem-solving and decision-making skills. We can create a webquest in Zunal. Actually this is an extra creadit task and it is optional, but I did it, though. I can use webquest to engage students in learning activities. Honestly, this is a new technology tool for me and I thank to Donna for this amazing new experiences.See you soon in week 6.
